Les Petits Entrepreneurs

Les Petits Entrepreneurs (LPE) is a collective of kid-driven (parent-supported) boutiques that lets kids experience what running a business is like. The kids pitch their products to the LPE committee for approval. Once approved, they create their business name, design their brand logo, make a collection, price, package, display & sell their creations at Fête Française. Our mission is to plant the seed of Entrepreneurialism in our children, encouraging them to sprout their own company.

Twenty-five percent of sales go back to EB to cover expenses for their booth and as part of the LPE initiative, which helps make purchases for our students. Past initiatives have paid for the Fabian Hall vegetable garden, the CNC router for the STEM lab, and a portion of the EB Recycling Program. This year, we are excited to welcome businesses selling bath products, plants, clothing, art, jewelry, and candy.

Come out and shop at the LPE boutique to support our young entrepreneurs!

La Fête Fairy: Coucou! Téa (11 yrs old) et Maman (timeless) are NOLAfied! Natives of Los Angeles, living la vie en rose in NOLA & summer-lovin’ in Brittany, France, notre mode est un mélange of all of the places we love! La Fête Fairy is a collection of colorful, fun essentials & trinkets for every Fête, festival & festive occasion. With a sprinkle of NOLA spirit & a splash of beachy vibes, some of our designs spark life into vintage finds to create one-of-a-kind pieces with added embellishments to give it a little whimsy & ooh la la!

Craft Stars: Leah Main (3rd grade) and Savannah Main (1st grade) are making lovely keychain bracelets for Fête.  They are fun, functional and come in many colors!

The Zhuk Shop: I love painting landscapes and making art because it’s fun! I will be selling paintings and stickers and handmade fans that my mom helped make.

TOYS AHOY: Hello! My name is Indio, I’m 10 years old and I love games. Ever since I was really young, I’ve played lots of games: card games, board games and much more. So I thought, why not invent my own? I was inspired from last year, in 4th grade where each class made our own businesses. My company is called “TOYS AHOY,” and I will be selling my very first card game called “FLAVOR FRENZY,” which is a food-based game that you can play while waiting for your meal at a restaurant.

EÇ Photography: I have always had an interest in the visual arts. I love telling stories through many media (movies, stop motion animation, comics). In 2022, I discovered toy photography, which inspired me to explore this further. Setting up the scenes exactly as I had imagined was a lot of work. At the same time, it was fun to imagine the stories behind the photos and put action into them. This year, I am using some other photography I have done in addition to my toy photography to make greeting cards

The Mad Hatter: My name is Eva Thacker. I am 14  and in 8th grade. I love to make costumes and sew. I did Le Petits Entrepreneurs in 6th grade with my friend Liina, where we sold animal beanies. That and a costume class at summer camp inspired me. This year, I am taking second-hand hats and giving them a glow-up. I hope you enjoy them!

Le Petit Jardin: We started Le Petite Jardin because we grow fruit at our house. We want everyone else to have the same delicious fruit as us!

Tie Trés Bon: My name is Reed. I’m six. My friend Audrey and I are in Kindergarten. We wanted to do tie-dye because it’s cool to us. You can do a lot of different things with tie-dye like swirls. You can also just do a bunch of different colors and see what it turns out to be.

Zovi: My name is Violette (8) and my sister Zoe (15).  I was inspired to make hair things because my older sister had her Les Petits Entrepreneurs business, Zo’s Bows, for many years.  This year we are working together.  We both love fun hair things, and we want to share that love with you!

Sophia’s Jewelry Shop: I am Sophia, and I started making jewelry when I was in fifth grade just for fun. Then, I started selling it. I like making colorful accessories for people to wear.

Block Man: I started Block Man because I like making chocolates and baking with my Grandmother. I like Legos because I can be creative with them.  I enjoy participating in the Petite Entrepreneurs because I have a lot of fun.  I’ve been participating in LPE since 2018.

Ç Boutique: We started this boutique because we believe in reusing things and being gentle to our planet. Most of our items are in really good condition and can have a second life used by another kid. I hope you guys can appreciate and love these clothes as much as we did. – Elias and Ferah Celebi

Camille’s Creations: I have been making bracelets for a year and wanted to share what I make. LPE lets me do just that. I have fun making bracelets, and that is why I made Camille’s Creations.

Clay by Faye: Polymer clay jewelry and baubles by 1st grader Faye Atwater

Joie De Viv: I made my business because I once made a pine cone art piece for Ms. Elizabeth and she loved it. I wanted to do something that would recycle nature and that is beautiful and rarely seen. I also wanted to express myself.

Lyla The Ornament OG: I’ve enjoyed making ornaments throughout the years with different family members. I have made them with my sister, my dad, and my uncle. This is my fourth year, making the ornaments in every year. I look forward to making them and hanging them at Christmas time.

Tote-Ally French: Hi, my name is Liina Mayqvist. I am 13 years old, I attend school here at Ecole Bilingue, and I’m in 8th grade. This is my third year doing Les Petit Entrepreneurs at Fête and I have always noticed that people would buy stuff from stands but then wouldn’t have a bag to put it in. I have also recently gotten interested in textile waste. So many scraps of fabric are thrown away each year! I then decided I would make tote bags made out of vintage fabric.

Iris Alward: My name is Iris. I will be selling plants that I grew from seeds. I love being in the garden, taking care of our vegetables and flowers

Fire: Hi, my name is Sloane and I’ve made some all natural-fire starters. We use these to start campfires where we make smores! My family also uses them to start backyard BBQs.

Studio BEEM: Bonnie, Emma Claire, Elodie, and Marlowe are in third grade with Madame Camille. They were inspired to start a macrame business together after talking about many different business ideas at recess. They discussed their concepts and business name frequently at school until and worked hard on the weekends to make their products. They are excited for their first business venture.
